Data Issues Affecting Portfolios, Contests, and Trading
Some of you may have noticed problems on the site starting at about 2:00 p.m. ET on Friday, October 16. We received incorrect quote data, and this was applied to trades, portfolio gain/loss calculations, and contest standings.
We have turned trading back on. Trades will all be executed at correct prices, but we will not be able to reflect this on the site until the problem is fixed.
Also, performance, gain/loss, contest standings, and other portfolio related calculations will be incorrect.
We’re working to fix this problem as quickly as possible.

Will any trade affected by this calculation error be fixed and updated to accurate positions?

Is it me or does it seem like problems are happening often.

If you guys are able to fix issues how about looking at my trades on 10/10 I tried to get the majority of the DOW stocks long on market. For some reason all my fills were not taken care of til Monday 10/13 after the market had shot up. I don’t mind playing this however as a trader it’s kinda annoying not getting in or out when I put in orders. Any way to get this corrected or am I going to have to be a losing buy and hold person which is not a good method with the swings this thing is taking. And thats not fun to me.

So if we had limit orders in and stocks were purchased or sold at these incorrect quote values, will those orders be cancelled later today or whenever the issue is fixed? It shows my account up almost $500k today, which I know is inaccurate.

Can you also please check to make sure that dividends are paying out correctly? I missed dividends on a stock or two recently.

“Trades will all be executed at correct prices” ..
I cannot even make the trades because of the glitch in performance I do not have the capital to make a trade. This is ridiculous!

In my case my account seems to be mostly frozen. It is extreamly rare for me to be able to make any trades at all. I have not been able to make any new limit order trades at all in October. If this keeps up I will be forced to abandon updown.com.

It seems like they are happening more frequently. It’s a good thing this only uses ‘monopoly’ money, however it is still frustrating for those of us trying to build our own portfolio.

Hi Everyone,
First of all, sorry about this again. Here’s what I can do to help: if you were able to enter a trade and believe that the trade executed at an incorrect price, please send me an email at brendan@updown.com. I can manually fix those price entries in our system for you. Just send a list with the symbol, number of shares, incorrect price, correct price, and time that you entered each trade.
Regards,
Brendan
