Today’s Upgrades
e made three upgrades to UpDown.com this morning:
(1) We redesigned your Home Page to give you faster access to your portfolio, interesting information on stocks you own, your contest standings, and to other UpDown members.
(2) We added a message board to every contest to improve communications between you and your fellow competitors.
(3) We added a “Sponsored Contests” tab to the Contests section to make sure that you don’t miss out on any official contests with great prizes.
What do you think of these upgrades? Please let us know!

Just saw the new homepage, and I like it! It’s just enough information without causing an “information-overload headache”. Nicely organized - I especially like the updating/RT ticker that tracks my contest positions.

Thanks, Joe! It’s great to hear that you like it!

On the new home page, Could you put totals in the rankings? Such as #1600 of 3000. Or a percentile - anything that shows relativity. Thanks!

That’s a great idea! I will talk to our development team about it.
Thank you!

I SERIOUSLY miss having my buy-in price on the portfolio page. I used it continuously to decide my sell points.

MISSING BUY-IN PRICE ! After trying it for awhile now, I want to reiterate just how much i HATE not having my buy-in price on the portfolio page. I have no idea how I stand on a particular stock now, without doing the history thing, or noting the purchase price myself. I’ve always done that, but it was so much faster when it was on screen. At this point, my own records are better than the computer, and that is just pathetic. The is the very first time UpDown has made a disimprovement, in my experience. You have always been very responsive. Please fix this!

Hi Cher,
I understand your frustration here; you are certainly not alone. The buy-in price is still in your portfolio, but it is now located in the “Total Gain/Loss” section. You can find it by clicking on the “Total Gain/Loss” link found just above your portfolio’s holdings. Sorry that wasn’t clear before.
Does that help you find it? Please let me know!

Isn’t the standing for All members backward from the contests? It seems that minus is plus and plus is minus, or something. Am I confused?
November 9th, 2008 at 11:52 pm
Hi Cher,
Right now your change in overall ranking appears in red if your overall ranking decreased (in other words, you moved up) and in green if your overall ranking increased (you moved down).
You’re right; that is confusing. We’ll work on switching that!
